I had a really good day today. My lesson on President's Day went really well, and my teacher said that basically the only thing that I needed to work on was my classroom management, which is essentially making sure that the kids are too crazy and not talking too much while I'm talking. Other than that, she said I did a really good job, which is good, since I was so tired, and I really hadn't planned a lot to begin with. It's nice to know that I can come up with something good that easily. On the other hand, I've never felt so much like crying either. For the past two weeks, I've been working with one of the students in a small group on math. They're doing multiplication of two digit numbers (like 58 x 63). Well, I've worked so hard with him, and finally, yesterday, he only missed like 3 on his homework, and he could explain to me how he got his answers, and I was just so excited, because I thought he was finally getting it. And then they took their math tests today. I graded his, and he got 4 out of 20 correct. I've never felt more frustrated and just upset at the same time. I know he can do it. I know he can understand it. It's just a matter of focusing his mind and everything. And he doesn't get a second chance. He has to take his failing grade, which is the last thing he needs. It's just...I can't even explain it. I want so much for him to get it, to do well. Hmmm....What else? If you haven't read my post from early this morning go ahead and do it. At least I didn't get a ticket. Oh, and I saw "Coach Carter" last night AND updated my website with my review of it. If you care (most people don't, since I share my opinions of movies with pretty much anything that moves and makes a noise that sounds like the title of the movie. Anyway, here it is: http://1girlrevolution.tripod.com/id10.html Actually, I think I feel bad cuz I haven't done a thing to my website in a while, so I feel like I should mention it, or pretend to plug it, even though there's really nothing there but more inane gibberish. And one last thing. Yesterday at school, I managed to turn all the Special Education teachers against me at lunch. I was reading a newspaper article about something really stupid, and I said aloud, "Oh my gosh...That's so RETARDED!" I got the nastiest looks in my life from the SPED teachers. Apparently, that's inappropriate use of the word "retarded". Open mouth, insert foot.

I had a really good day today.
